We live in a location called Herxheim, a village in the Southwest of Germany.
On a map of Germany you can find Herxheim, and in or Album you can get some impressions of our home village.

I was born in 1952 in the small city of Schleswig in the area between North Sea and Baltic Sea, just about 30 km South of the border to Denmark. After the "Abitur" at the Domschule Schleswig I came down to the South of Germany for my studies at Karlsruhe university.

In 1983 I found a job there as a service engineer at Siemens in Karlsruhe, and today my job is marketing and promotion for the migration of process control systems.

Computers are not only my profession, but also a hobby. Surfing around in the WWW is a part of it, creating web sites (like this one or for Monika or my band) but most of all it is looking for worldwide contacts via eMail. By this we could establish friendships to people in many countries of the world, and some eMail friends we have already met in reality.

A common hobby for Monika and me is travelling. During trips to Hong Kong, Singapore, and Bali in 1996 and to Australia in 1999 and 2001 we even met eMail friends from the internet. In later years we saw Egypt and India, and plan some more travels for the future. Monika always writes down notes during the travels, and together with the many photos I take we create an album of the trip when we're back home. Some excerpts we have also published on our website.

Born in 1952 I would describe myself as a creative "Querkopf" as we say in German, that is somebody who often thinks in a different way than other people. Often I pour out a whole bunch of ideas, and that could sometimes be a bit exhausting for the people around me :).

Because TV is not an important thing to me, I have to use my time for other things. The kids are getting older and more and more independent. Besides my part time job  (at the Baden-Wurttemberg Institute for Environmental Protection in Karlsruhe) and my housewife job I did some correspondence courses for authors. In 1995 I wrote my first book ("Abenteuer Partnersuche" - "The adventure of searching for a partner") which tells 20 true stories of people who searched and found their lovers/husbands/wives using an advertisement in a newspaper or a
special advertisement journal. I also found my husband in such a paper, and it was the best idea I ever had....

Since then I'm fascinated by the subject Singles and Partnership. In 1997 I published another brochure with hints for successful advertising and developed my project "ideen für menschen" ("ideas for people"). This project consists of lectures and seminars about rhetorics. Diethard set up the project's internet site, where people can find many interesting things like advertisments, polls, a chat, a discussion board and more - of course this site is in German only :-((.

Since 2003 I'm head of a leisure time club in Karlsruhe called Freizeit-Treff.

I was born in Karlsruhe in 1982 into this sometimes disillusioning world and spent my childhood and youth in the beautiful Südpfalz. After my final secondary school examinations and my public service I moved to the city of Freiburg, where I prepare myself for the studies of "Visual Communication". Starting in August 2004, I do a one-year pre-study at the Schule für Gestaltung in Basel/Switzerland, before starting my application for the Hochschule für Gestaltung und Kunst.

Besides that, I spend a lot of time in the sunny south of our country together with my little sister and her boy-friend, who is also my flatmate. I work on several web projects like nu:artGALLERY, the "free online gallery", at the "Event and Party Site for the Südpfalz“ PartySeek.org or the homesite for local LANpartys called „BigFrag“.

Like you may have understood before, my interests are focused to design and art. I love listening to music, I like to cook as well as eat, and use to enjoy a "Caipi" or similar beverage compositions in a relaxed atmosphere.

Since 1986 I am living in this world.

The first 13 years of my life I spent in that genuine village named Herxheim located in the gorgeous area named Pfalz. Around the millenium I moved with my mother to Freiburg: a beautiful city, surrounded by a multifaceted area.

I finished school in 2005 with my high school diploma, and are currently on education as a Gestalterin für visuelles Marketing at a world famous furniture house: IKEA.

On March 19th, 1977 I was born in the sunny city of Karlsruhe. After high school I was responsible for the PR for Campus-Reisen and I did a traineeship at the advertising agency ‚Sommer und Sommer’ (www.sommer-sommer.de), as writer and designer. Keen on music at that time, I was songwriter and pianist of the Art-Rockband ‚Dewar’ and later of ‚Teddy Schmacht’, a pop band still touring the world, (www.teddy-schmacht.de) for quite while.

Working at the nostalgic movie theatre ‚Schauburg’ in Karlsruhe (www.schauburg.de) I was deeply touched by movies, so that I finally left Karlsruhe and the Teddy-Schmacht-band. Though sheding tears, I wanted to try my luck at Road Movies in Berlin, Wim Wenders’ production campany at that time. After a yearlong apprenticeship as office-production assistant and set runner for different feature films at the Potsdam-Babelsberg-Studios, I became the personal assistant to Stefan Paul (www.arsenalfilm.de), director of the Filmfest at the Word exhibition in Hannover "EXPO 2000".

During that time I was accepted by the Filmacademy Baden-Würtemberg (www.filmakademie.de) to study directing films with the focus on documentaries. I started the same year, in fall 2000. Two years later, I stopped out to be a „ragazzo alla pari“ (Au-Pair) with an italian family in Milan for ten months, to learn about the italian way of life and study the language.
